What is the legal standing of the ASA in relation to Ofcom?
ASA has the power to make a company re-shoot a section of their advert or even upheld it so that the advert will not be shown again to the public. It only takes one person to complain about the advert for ASA to investigate it. The advertisers that break the rules, they are told to either change the specific section of the advert or to remove the advert from each channel that is shown in. however, ASA only has the power to see the complaints and checking the advert whereas Ofcom has the power to keep the commercial on air or to upheld it.

What are the procedures of the organisation?
If someone would want to make a complaint about a certain advert, then they would have to go on the ASA website then go on ruling where it would show links to bring you to adverts that has been complained about before but also adverts with no complaints. There are also links on the side for social networking such as their twitter page, press zone, how to comply with the rules, to sign up so you could be notified and also a link to see how to make a complaint. When a complaint is made, the person complains would be given the name of the person who would handle the case. After, if the complaint is not minor, the ASA council would have to take charge by contacting the complainant, advertiser and if necessary then the broadcaster. The ASA council will then ask both the advertiser and the broadcaster for evidence to see why they thought the ad was appropriate.

What are the key parts of the code governing food and soft drinks advertising and children and advertising that you think will be important to bare in mind for your advert?
I must make sure that the my advert is not misleading in any way as it would make the product look bad to the public but also that the I would have to make sure that the advert does not show any scenes in which includes disrespect, abuse and assault and bad manners that could inspire the audience to do the same. But also the advert should be truthful and honest because if it would not be honest, it would lead to complaints of it showing false information.

This advert is
about a story of a child names Dan. the story began by instantly showing a big
animated monster as shown at 0.02 and also Dan saying "I used to lash if
someone pushed my buttons" which automatically gives a negative feeling
towards the advert because of the monster and having the idea of it being
vicious and dangerous. The advert goes through hot he was a monster-like person
by having a mental condition and his journey to over-come it. the reason why
this advert has had complaints are because for people who has that mental
condition would feel bad about themselves and also would make them feel
insecure which could cause trouble. I think that the advert could have been
presented it in a better way than representing a monster as being Dan's anger
and frustration and also by making it light hearted as it would not make other
people feel bad.
This advert was not upheld but has had complaints and was considered to be impolite. The reason why this advert has had complaints is because throughout the advert, the actors were talking with their mouth full which would be disrespectful show the younger audiences bad manners. An example would be in 0.02 - 0.04 where one of the worker was singing to her friend with her mouth full. Young children are taught not to do this but by singing ender people on TV talking and singing with their mouth full, the children would do the same.
This is a Tango advert where a man drinks a tango at 0.02
but then after there is a "big orange fella" running in 0.09 then
slaps the man drinking the Tango on 0.16 to represent how the drink hits you. The
reason why this advert was upheld was because the audience, mainly children,
was influenced by the advert ad started to do the same. This lead to some
children being injured which caused a problem. The advert was upheld for having
assault that made some children do the same as the advert.
this is a haribo supermix advert that has been been banned because of unhealthy promoting, but also the girl made refrences such as "but unfortunately, his head fell off"in 0.12 to 0.15 and had a shot of the girl eating eating the man shaped sweet. this sends out the wrong mesages to the younger audience as they would think eating eating unhealthy food is not harmful but also because of what was said in 0.12 to 0.15.
