realist
The mood given by this advert engages the audience because most people takes pictures day to day of objects that interests, inspires and that they think is fun. Throughout the advert, there are people taking pictures of events, objects and places but also show people taking pictures of something they did that most of the audience have done before such as in 0.48 where there is a girl in a car taking a picture of a heart she made on a car window. The music played gives a calm feeling to the audience which give a positive feeling to the audience by adding laughter, smiles and interests in the video played. There is only one small sentence that was said in the video which was on 0.54 - 0.58 saying "every day, more photos are taken with the iPhone than any other camera" which makes the audience feel like they should be join in and not miss out as everyone in the video is having fun taking photos on the iPhone and the audience think they could be one of them. This advert presents the phone as being more of a fashion statement. Throughout the advert, there are different types of people that are interested in different things, such as in 0.01, 0.03 and 0.07 every character is different. The first shot includes friends exploring and the second shot shows friends that are skateboarding and in the third shot, there is someone jogging which shows that people also into fitness are happy using this phone. the people in the advert are also using it for very different reasons and occasions, for example, from 0.24 to 0.31 there are shots of people taking photographs of places, an even and also food hence the phone would suit with any type of person.
anti-realist
The mood set in this advert is humorous but also surprised
and left baffled at the end. Anti-realist is something that will never happen
or is impossible to occur, this advert does this by having a giant rubber duck
that is angry on the dad that ripped a photo of it. What make the advert funny
are the sound effects used such as in 0.30 when there was a zoom in on the
dad's serious face but also a serious sound in the background when he saw the
giant rubber duck? After, the duck
started to cause havoc in the city by crashing buildings and streets. It is
also humorous because of the billboard used to advertise the product on 0.57
because it said "for people who don't like water" which will be funny
for most people. this is an effect that anti-realist advert gives to the
audience such as this one, the advert makes the audience feel cheerful and
joyful because of the unrealistic features such as in 0.32. This advert is
promoting the oasis drink to be something the audience drink rather than water
when they are thirsty. But the advert presents it in a creative way to
appeal to their target audience which would be teenagers because of the ridiculous
yet effective idea.
animation
This advert uses animation to make the main character. It is
a simple way to advertise the product and company and animation can be used
throughout the advert or just in a section of the advert. This advertisement
just uses animation for a part of the advert to make a character but the room
all around is real. The mood for this advert is more humorous because there is
a talking market. The mood of the meerkat is annoyed because people are going
to his site to look for something else. he makes it clear on 0.18 - 0.26, the
way this is advertised is that they don’t give out any information on the company
apart from the website so the audience could go visit the site. The advert
makes this unique and different to other adverts because there is a talking
animal but also, they mix both animation and reality to the advert throughout
the advert. This gives the characters a human characteristic because they move,
talk and act like humans but also has a realistic background. Animation is used
in this advert because both "Market" and "Meerkat" rhymes
so the idea is to make a confusion, another reason why they have included
animation is because no meerkat could talk or could act so animation allows
them to create that character making it easier.
documentry
The mood set on this advert is feeling sorry, sad and making
the audience want to help the animals. They do this by showing an abandoned dog
at the start that is in all alone in the rain with no shelter. They use close
ups to add in the sad feeling such as on 0.10 and 0.26. After it shows a
dog that has got help from RSPCA that looks healthier, cleaner and happier
which shows that the audience could help save or helped an animal. The voice
over in the advert adds into the feeling of being upset as it is a low, slow
and smooth voice. However, the voice over also gives the information on how the
audience could help and also describes what has happened and what could happen
to the dog in the advert if the audience would help. This advert also gives
information on the bottom of the screen to direct the audience if they would
want to help such as in 0.00 to 0.05 and 0.37 to 1.30. The information is there
to inform the audience such as in 0.50, it gives the site that you could go on
to help an animal and also the number to text. What makes this advert effective
is that they have mainly used one dog throughout the advert showing how it
started as being dark, gravy, sad and homeless in 0.03 to being white, clean and
having someone to care for it. This emphasises the changes an audience could do
to one helpless animal.
talking heads
Talking heads is a type of advert that has people talking to
the camera. It is effective as the audience would feel as if they are talking
to them but also usually professionals of the specific topic usually talks
which would make the audience believe in what they say. it would grab the
audiences' attention because most adverts consists of gaming, animations and
other techniques but this stands out from the rest as it is simple but
effective. This informs the audience about Lloyds bank and has people to say
what they think of their home and how Lloyds helped. This is effective because
it shows people that are in Lloyds to give feedback to the audience, this is
helpful because the audience would get information from people that have
already used Lloyds. The advert mainly consists of close ups to make the
audience feel like the advert is directed at them.
stand alone
Stand alone is the opposite of a series advert as the same advert is shown many times to advertise a product or event. This advert advertises electric dance music and this is done by playing vicious songs in the back ground as there are many colourful and information shown on the video. There are 9 different songs that are played in the advert and which sends a message that they have a lot to show in a short amount of time. The mood for this advert is more upbeat and fun because of the songs being played which makes the audience want to buy the product. The advert only shows 2-3 words each time which does not give a lot of information but they advertise it in a way that the music played will sell itself. There are only graphics in the advert to emphasise the music so the audience would not have to concentrate more on what is on the screen. however the graphics and writing also goes in with the music played in the background such as in 0.04 to 0.05 where it says "IN 2013" but it beats to the music in the background. This advert is effective because of the nonstop graphics as many other adverts do not include this.
series
A series advertisement is when a number of adverts are
released from the same company that is similar that makes a storyline. An
example is the coco-pops advert where there is the iconic, animated monkey. This
advert does use this method by having song played by the monkey each time. This
advert is aimed at children as it is animated and also a childlike song is
being played but also on how the characters act in the advert, this gives a
fun, happy and joyous mood to the advert. In this advert, it shows the monkey
saving his friends from the aliens by attracting them with coco pops. other
coco pops advert are similar to this because the money tries to defeat people
who causes havoc d in and uses coco pops as an advantage to win as he did in
0.13. This advert would appeal to children as it is animated but also tells a
short story in each advert so it engages them and convinces them to have coco
pops because of the amusing and enjoyable advert. The advert entertains the
audience to make them think positively towards coco pops.
